Please vote NO in this poll in the Hawaii newspaper, Beyond Honolulu:

The proponents of assisted suicide announced several months ago that a 1909 law intended to allow patients with no hope of recovery from their illnesses to obtain “any remedial agent or help” and intended to give such patients access to drugs before they had been approved by the state, should be interpreted as allowing doctors to write lethal prescriptions. On December 8, the Attorney General of Hawaii found that they were wrong. The report, which become public last week, states that the opposite is true: “A physician who provided such assistance could be charged under Hawaii’s manslaughter statute (http://www.therepublic.com/view/story/560a3dad91494579ad7e40231eea4147/HI–Physician-Assisted-Suicide-Hawaii/).”
The legislature in Hawaii has defeated attempts to legalize assisted suicide many times, the last in 2011. Once more the proponents are mounting an effort to insist that, if PAS is not legal now, it should become so. We don’t want another state added to two where it is legal now. Please vote NO as soon as possible.
