The Bennington Banner published a fair article about the Manchester forum sponsored by the proponents of assisted suicide in Vermont. It also published a great picture of a room full of people wearing yellow stickers. You cannot read the stickers in the picture, but we are happy to tell you that they said, “I Oppose Physician Assisted Suicide.” Of the 100 people there, we estimate that only about 10 did not express opposition by wearing the stickers. The Banner stated that the opposition was sometimes emotional, but civil. It would not allow us to post the page and the accompanying picture but only to link it. Clearly, Vermonters oppose legalizing assisted suicide! Friends who attended the other forums around the state tell us that opponents greatly outnumbered proponents at every one of them.
