In a letter to the Burlington Free Press yesterday, another Vermonter asks the legislature to focus on the economic needs of our state rather than wasting precious legislative time on the issue of assisted suicide that Vermonters have already spoken on numerous times.
Letter: Legislature has no time for doctor-prescribe-death
Two year ago, tens of thousands of out-of-state dollars poured into Vermont in an effort to pass doctor-prescribe-death legislation. Instead of our legislators focusing on their job of helping to promote legislation that will create economic strength and jobs for Vermont, they fed into out of state forces that had their own agenda.
Vermonters have spoken on this issue numerous times and it has been repeatedly voted down. It’s time to move on and stop allowing Vermont to be used for narrow agendas at the expense of our legislators’ time and energy. The legislative session is short — legislators use your time to bring life to the economic needs of the state, not death to its citizens.
