Mark Pickup, a disability rights activist, has written a compelling opinion against assisted suicide. He makes an excellent argument that assisted suicide does not promote the common good, tears at our community interdependence and puts the most vulnerable at risk.
“A truly progressive and compassionate society is concerned about life with dignity – especially for those who do not have it. Death with dignity is not an event, it is the natural conclusion of having lived with dignity,” he writes.
