Assisted suicide opponents will need to make our presence felt in the State House on April 10 as two Vermont House committees hold hearings on S. 77, the end of life bill passed by the Senate in February. Though the hearings are on that bill, the proponents of assisted suicide do not like it and will certainly try to restore its original Oregon-style form , the form in which it failed to pass in the Senate.
Please get to the State House early to get seats for the testimony, which is expected to begin at 10 AM, and please wear a sticker showing your opposition to assisted suicide. Obviously we need a good turnout to let our representatives know that Vermonters will not accept the legalization of assisted suicide.
There will be more hearings on this bill, including possibly one at which the public will be invited to testify. Please check your email and the True Dignity site often for more alerts.
